My Test Kitchen

Delicious desserts, delectable dinners, crockpot creations, and boxed meal blunders...here i will share some of the best and worst recipes made and eaten in the Willingham household! As a busy wife and mommy i will focus on quick and easy meals that are yummy yet nutritious while also eating on a budget. Each meal i share will include the recipe, shopping list, and an aprox. total meal cost. The goal: to help others eat fresh and fit with quick meals/desserts on a budget. Whew! Now I'm hungry!!

This recipe is one of my all time favs because its quick, easy, and my 1 year old can help make it!! Its so easy and super delish!!! The original recipe called Taffy Apple Pizza is from The Pampered Chef recipe collection but when i went to make it a few years back, i couldn't find their recipe anywhere. So i made it according to what i remembered and it turned out fantastic! Its a great dessert to take to a family function, work luncheon, or just to have as a snack at home. So here is my version of the Pampered Chef Recipe.
Taffy Peanut Butter Apple Bars
Shopping List/ Ingredients:
4 medium size apples (i like gala)
2 cups peanut butter
1 roll of pre-made sugar cookie dough
1/2 cup caramel ice-cream topping
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon

Directions:
1. Grease a pan to cook the cookie dough (I use a 9x13 brownie pan)
2. Spread the sugar cookie dough in the pan. Dont worry about making it super even because when it cooks it evens out and rises slightly together)

3. Bake according to the directions. When its done let it cool. (if your in a hurry you can put it in the freezer for 20 minutes to cool)
***While its cooking cut your apples up into small chunks***
4. Spread the peanut butter on the cookie till its even. I like using the back of a spoon. (Lucie loves helping with this!)
5. Sprinkle all your apple chunks evenly on the top.
6. Drizzle the caramel topping all over the top! (I like to pour the caramel into a ziplock baggie and cut the corner off so it drizzles evenly and looks pretty!)
7. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over! Then cut into squares and EJNOY!! Its so yummy!
Its not the healthiest of snacks but with a little of portion control its soooo worth it! Hope you like it!!
